*All Lessons are billed on a per month basis unless a la carte which are due 48 hours before time of service. A la carte lessons are additional to the package amount of lessons (4 per month).
Lesson Policies
● First Lesson
○ Before your first lesson you must turn in signed lesson policies, completed rider information, signed liability waiver, make first month’s payment and deposit. These are sent through Docusign.
● Payment and Deposit
○ Lesson fees are due on or before the 7th of each month, paid via Venmo, PayPal (friends and family or additional $15 fee will apply) Cash, Credit Card or Check.
○ For payments received after the 7th a $35.00 late fee will be automatically added to your account.
○ A Deposit is required for all Monthly lesson packages. Deposits are non-refundable.
● Make-up and Absence Policy
○ Give Justyne Albright a MINIMUM 48hr notice of cancellation to have a make-up issued.
○ Late cancellations or “no shows” will be charged just as if you had taken the lesson.
○ Only 1 make-up per student, per month. Under special circumstances, we will issue 2 make-ups.
○ If the barn cancels lessons, a make-up lesson will be issued. Any makeups issued by the barn will not count against your 1 allowed.
○ Make-up lessons must be taken within 60 days of the missed lesson, including barn issued.
○ No refunds, credits, or deductions will be issued for any missed lessons or for unused makeup lessons.
● Inclement Weather Policy
○ In case of inclement weather, contact the Justyne Albright for class status. Barn may have horsemanship lessons on these days where students will learn valuable unmounted skills.
● Lesson Attire and Tack
○ All riders must have an ASTM/SEI Approved Riding Helmet (FCS has a few helmets that may be borrowed if available at your own risk.)
○ Paddock boots or shoes with a heel, tight fitted pants or jeans, and high thick socks or half chaps to prevent stirrup leathers from rubbing.
○ All Tack must be cleaned after EACH ride.
● Tacking / Untacking / Grooming / Arrival Time
○ Groom your horse before and after the lessons. Plan 30 minutes or more after your lesson to cool your horse-bathe (when warm), sponge (when cool), or use a cooler (when cold). Then turnout (if they are going out). Ask your instructor for specific instructions daily!
○ Clean up after yourself and your horse- remove manure, leave grooming/tacking area neat and tidy, and sweep-up after your horse.
Arrive at the time of your lesson. Arriving early will not allow for additional time during the lesson. Arriving late will take away from your lesson time.
